Palau representatives are attending for the first time a regional forum for people with disabilities in the Pacific, being held in Auckland this week.
The Omekesau Association's Villaney Remengesau says their association for disabled people, is a new member of the Pacific Disability Forum.
She says their association has recently been revived with just sixty active members.
She says there are still a variety of challenges ahead for disabled people in Palau, which the Forum could help them with.
"We are a small population. We are still lacking resources and the financial, to give the resources. And of course there are islands they are all separated so there are challenges there to get the data going in order for us to continue in our activities."

The meeting has also attracted organisations from Australia and New Zealand, government representatives, and development partners and donors.
