Samoa will face the Philippines in today's final of the East Asia Pacific cricket tournament in Apia.
The hosts warmed up yesterday with a 92 run win over Indonesia to maintain their unbeaten record, while the Philippines sealed their place after beating Tonga.
Samoa's player-coach Murphy Su'a says their bowling and fielding has been sharp all week, but with the format changing from 20 overs to 50 overs for the final they will need to tweak their gameplan slightly.
"It comes back to playing a lot straighter in the 50 over format, being a lot more patient, and like I said to my team, at this level, if you bat 50 overs more often than not you're going to win the game. If we bat first I'm looking for four and over, five an over early on and then we've got some big hitters down the end, and we just need to continue the bowling because the boys are bowling really well at the moment."
The winner of today's final will be promoted to World Cricket League 8.
Meanwhile yesterday afternoon the Cook Islands beat the Republic of Korea to finish in third place, while Papua New Guinea secured fifth place after seeing off Bermuda.
