The leader of the opposition Tautua Samoa party, Vaai Papu Vaelupe, has had allegations of bribery and treating levelled against him in court.
An unsuccessful HRPP candidate in last month general election, Tufuga Gafoaleata Faitua, filed the election petition against the Vaai.
Yesterday, the court heard from the orator of Asau village, Fao Ualesi,of a traditional apology or Ifoga performed by Vaai and his sister.
Vaai's sister's husband, Masoe Selota is also a high chief of Asau village and was banished from the village after the general election last month.
Fao Ualesi was giving evidence in support of Tufuga Gafoaleata Faitua,
He told the court Vaai had apologised to him for comments he and Masoe Selota had made to the media in relation to the banishment incident.
