NZ High Commissioner to Kiribati to go to Hong Kong

7:07 pm on 6 May 2011

New Zealand's High Commissioner to Kiribati and Ambassador to Palau, Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia will be transfered to Hong Kong as the next Consul-General.

The New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully says Robert Kaiwai will lead New Zealand's presence in Hong Kong, with the role of forging and maintaining a strong relationship in the special administrative region.

Mr Kaiwai will assume the new position in December, replacing Adele Bryant.
