A new group of individuals has shown interest in the development of the now defunct government owned Rainmaker Hotel in American Samoa.

The hotel, which over looks the Pago Pago bay, has been reduced to just a structure, with efforts over the past year to redevelop the hotel unsuccessful.

Governor Togiola Tulafono said that during a recent off-island trip to the U.S., he stopped in Phoenix in Arizona to meet individuals who want to take part in providing finance to develop the Rainmaker Hotel property.

The governor said it has been 8 years since the property was given to the board of minority shareholders for redevelopment, but nothing has been done except for people cleaning the property.
