Two major tour operators out of Samoa are looking at sending their clientele, including tourists from Australia and New Zealand to American Samoa.

American Samoa Visitor's Bureau chief executive officer, David Vaeafe, says the territory is been targeted by two tour operations in Samoa for travel packages for visitors from New Zealand and Australia as well as Samoan vacationers.

Samoa Scenic Tour officials were in Pago Pago in February and late last month, officials of Polynesian Explorer were on island.

Mr Vaeafe says the two tour companies are developing tour packages to include a side trip to American Samoa.

He said officials of the tour companies met with his office as well as local operators for putting together such packages.
