A third senior police officer in Samoa has been charged with causing actual bodily harm relating to the alleged assault of a woman who was the center of investigations last year over the death of her 14 year old daughter at Ti'avea tai village.

Faasalafa Sione was admitted at the hospital as a result of the alleged assault but is currently serving a life sentence with her husband for the murder of her daughter.

A police spokesperson says the police inspector has been suspended from his duties to await his first appearance in court next week.

Two police women have already been charged with actual bodily harm relating to the same incident.

They have entered not guilty pleas.
