12:00 pm on 3 June 2011

The police involved in the search of two sisters missing for nine days in the Northern Marianas say they're doing everything humanly possible to find them.

Ten-year old Faloma and nine-year-old Maleina disappeared after waiting for a bus last week.

Officer Jason Tarkong, spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety, says about 70 local and federal law enforcement personnel are working on the case.

He says they're still hopeful of finding the girls alive and they're leaving no stone unturned.

"CNMI SEARCH TP 14"

There's been hundreds of volunteers showing up everyday and again this is a small community. Our island is about 45.6 square miles and it's only about 14 miles long and eight miles wide so everybody who's anybody knows about this case.

Jason Tarkong says the police are following-up on 'persons of interest'.
