Brisbane Airport is advising travellers around the Pacific to check with their airline for any disruptions caused by the ash cloud from Chile's erupting volcano.
Brisbane is one of the key departure points for island countries and some flights have been cancelled or delayed.
Corporate relations manager for Brisbane Airport, Rebecca Masci, says flights between Brisbane and New Zealand are still affected, but connections to the island nations are now operating freely.
"So far flights to Fiji, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tonga are unaffected by the ash cloud, flights between Brisbane Airport and these islands. However this is a changing situation on a day to day basis and so we are advising passengers to contact their airlines direct to give them specific information about their flights."
