The son of Papua New Guinea's acting prime minister Sam Abal, who is facing a murder charge, was denied bail yesterday in the Magistrates Court.

21 year-old Theo Abal has been charged with murder after a woman's body was found at the grounds of Sam Abal's Port Moresby residence.

Police have increased security around the acting Prime Minister due to fears over a revenge attack on the Abal family.
