Sport: PNG unbeaten at Twenty 20 cricket tournament

Papua New Guinea dominated the first day of the East Asia Pacific Division One Twenty 20 cricket tournament, sweeping aside in Vanuatu and Samoa in their opening clashes.

Playing in front of their home fans in Port Moresby, Tony Ura struck a quick-fire 73 as the Barramundi's held off Vanuatu by 38 runs before thumping Samoa by 77 runs in their second match of the day.

Earlier, in the tournament's opening game, Samoa pipped Fiji with a ball to spare, chasing down their target of 126.

However, Fiji did recover to beat Japan by 74 runs in the afternoon.
