The former Fiji and New Zealand netball international Vilimaina Davu says Fiji must now finish on a high and target a ninth place finish at the World Champs in Singapore.
No Pacific team qualified for the knockout stages after Northern Ireland overwhelmed Samoa 66-37 in their final pool match.
Fiji were already out of the running after losing to New Zealand and Trinidad and Tobago, but got their first win yesterday against Wales 48-38.
They'll play hosts Singapore in the consolation rounds for 9th-16th place today and Davu says, while it wont make up for the disappointment of missing out the quarter-finals, the team must now try and finish as high as possible.
"A lot of the teams this year have really improved from the last world champs and, as I said, Fiji will just look forward to playing off in the best of ninth and tenth position."
Samoa play Malaysia in their consolation match while the top eight teams have today off.
