Samoa's opposition Tautua Samoa party has so far confirmed two candidates, including a high ranking woman village chief, for the four by-elections to be held on July the 29th.

She's Alai'asa Elena from the village of Falefa who'll contest the Anoama'a east constituency seat.

In March's general election the seat was won by the ruling HRPP party candidate from the same village, Alai'asa Filipo Schwartz Hunt, who holds the same matai title, but the poll was declared void after he was found guilty of bribery and treating.

The Tautua Samoa party has also confirmed that medical doctor, Leali'ifano Iopu Tanielu, will stand in the Vaisigano number one constituency.

That seat had been won by the then leader of the Tautua Samoa party, Vaai Papu Vaelupe, but his election was declared void after he was found guilty of bribery and treating.

Tautua Samoa is still looking for candidates to compete in the Satupa'itea and Aleipata Itupa i Luga constituencies.
