After rotating his squad during the Pacific Nations Cup, Manu Samoa head coach Fuimaono Tafua has named a strong team for Sunday's test against Australia in Sydney.

Kahn Fotouali'i will make his first appearance of the year at halfback after completing his duties with the Crusaders.

Mahonri Schwalger will captain the side while Tusi Pisi gets the nod at first five, with brother George outside vice captain Seilala Mapusua at centre.

Samoa have plenty of experience on the bench too through the likes of Tii Paulo, Census Johnston and Filipo Levi.

Fuimaono says his team's disappointing end to the Pacific Nations Cup wont affect their preparation for the match.

The two teams last met in 2005 when Australia won 74-7.

The test against the Wallabies will be followed by two home fixtures against the Western Force next month.
