The Royal Solomon Islands Police say 13 people have been charged in relation to a dispute that got out of control at Baolo logging camp in Isabel Province.
Among those charged, is the provincial minister of works, Nelson Kile.
Assistant Police Commissioner Operations, Nathaniel Mosese, says as well as charges of riotous behaviour and looting, they also face charges of intimidation, malicious damage, damage to property, assault and trespass.
Dubbed Operation Mighei, he says provincial and Honiara police officers were deployed to the camp last week to restore law and order.
"Over the past years there's been an increase in people taking the law into their own hands and raiding villages and raiding business places, logging companies, and we decided we need to take tougher measures and we have to attend all these incidents."
Nathaniel Mosese says the 13 people have been released on bail until court hearings.
