A 10-month dispute between the fastfood giant KFC and the Fiji Biosecurity Authority could soon be resolved following the Attorney-General's intervention.
KFC closed its three Fiji restaurants this week, blaming deteriorating sales after it was prevented from importing key ingredients for its signature original recipe chicken.
The Biosecurity Authority says KFC hasn't provided a veterinary certificate to import the milk and egg mix after it changed its suppliers last October.
The Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, says he had a meeting with both parties yesterday at which the authority undertook to explain the documentation it requires.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum says KFC agreed to provide the paperwork, or allow biosecurity officials to visit the plant in Singapore where the mix is made.
