The winner of this year's Miss Samoa New Zealand pageant, Metotisi Fa'alava'au, will not be competing with six other contestants in Samoa for the Miss Samoa title which will be given in the finale of the Teuila Festival week.
It is the first time a winner of the Miss Samoa New Zealand pageant will not be competing.
A senior officer of the Samoa Tourism Authority, Dwayne Bentley, says the organising committee has been informed of the decision by the Miss Samoa New Zealand board of directors.
The board has decided it is not fair for a winner of a national competition in New Zealand to take part in another same national event.
However Mr Bentley says the winner of the Miss Samoa Australia will be contesting in the annual tourism promotion event where the overall winner will represent Samoa in the annual Miss South Pacific beauty competition.
