An outspoken Fiji economist Wadan Narsey says he will continue his work analysing Fiji's economic situation despite ending his job at the University of the South Pacific.
Professor Narsey says he left by mutual agreement with the Suva-based institution but is bound not to speak about the reasons for his departure.
There are allegations the interim government had threatened to withhold funding from the university if the academic was not removed.
Professor Narsey who's currently on sabbatical in Japan says he has no shortage of work especially in the international arena.
"Of course I'll keep on writing about Fiji because it is is important to have an economist's perspective on what's going on just to provide guidance to our people who are pretty well rudderless, and unfortunately with the closure of parliament, there is no public debate especially with media freedom very very severely curtailed."
Wadan Narsey plans to return to Fiji in November.
