Eight people were killed in a traffic accident in Chuave in Papua New Guinea's Chimbu Province on Monday night.
The PACNEWS agency reports a truck driver lost control of his vehicle while travelling downhill.
Among the dead were four students that the truck hit before slamming into a house killing a child and seriously injuring five others.
Police say the driver, who works for a construction firm, was arrested and taken into custody.
