Questions raised over cost of Cooks delegation to Forum

6:46 pm on 30 August 2011

There's anger in the Cook Islands over unconfirmed reports the cash-strapped government's planning to send its biggest ever delegation to next week's Pacific Islands Forum summit in New Zealand.

The central agencies committee, chaired by the public service commissioner, Navy Epati, is demanding answers from government about the proposed mission.

He says the government is yet to answer any of the queries.

Cook Islands News says there are unconfirmed reports that about 65,000 US dollars is budgeted for the trip, which may include low ranking police staff and a member of the opposition.
