Disaster management teams and weather forecasters in Guam will join in a tropical cyclone and disaster preparedness and climate workshop this week.

The event will be conducted by the coordination meteorologist from the National Weather Service and will be held at the rescue and fire fighting facility at Yap International Airport.

The Marianas Variety reports the workshop will focus on various aspects of tropical cyclones and the warning system, volcanoes, rip currents, the tsunami risk, climate change and El Niño.

It says the course is designed for key decision-makers and their assistants of government agencies, non-government organizations, and business people from the private sector.
