Eight months out from the next election in Papua New Guinea a new political party has been launched.
The Indigenous People's Party, being set up by former MP John Tekwie, is the second new party focussing on resources issues.
A spokesperson, Dick Ermot, says resource ownership is the bedrock of the new party.
Mr Ermot says despite the resources in the country the returns devolving to the people are meagre.
He says the party wants to reform resource law, covering minerals, fishing and forestry.
"It's more of ownership capital, other than just, you know getting another job, because I will tell you this, our economy's reversed, from the developed world, it's reversed. We own land. Land is our and in the developed world all they have got is to sell their skills and get a job. Ours is the opposite."

Earlier this year prominent lawyer Peter Donigi established the Customary Land Rights Holders Party to try and ensure the people have more say in the exploitation of resources.
