The Australian Prime Minister's XIII held off Papua New Guinea 36-22 on Sunday in Lae in their annual rugby league clash.
Tries from Josh Morris and Blake Ferguson gave the visitors a 12-0 lead at halftime, which quickly blew out to 30-0 before the locals rallied with three quick tries of their own.
However with each roar of approval from the stands, rocks were thrown over the fence and onto the field by the angry fans outside, who had missed out on tickets.
This was answered by a rapid series of gunshots.
Josh Morris then sealed the win with his second four-pointer before Joshaia Abavu bagged a consolation effort for the Kumuls.
