The Public Accounts Committee in Vanuatu is calling on the Prime Minister, Sato Kilman, to deal with what it says is the unlawful use of government vehicles by some MPs.
In Vanuatu only ministers are entitled to use the vehicles but it's become a habit for some MPs to make use of the cars in Port Vila.
The chairman of the committee, Ioane Simon and the vice chairman Jean Ravou, are mandated by the Expenditure Review and Audit Act to pursue any matter of concern affecting public accountability.
In a letter, they've strongly urged the prime minister to act responsibly and deter such actions.
