Fiji's Air Pacific says the airline has reached agreement on a new five-year contract covering the airline's 254 flight attendants

It says the deal reached with its Flight Attendants' Union will be effective of next month.

The carrier says it will avoid redundancies, increase flight attendant base salaries, and realign allowances and work rules to increase efficiency and productivity.

Air Pacific, which is part-owned by Qantas, recently secured a 113 million US dollar from Fiji's pension fund to buy three new Airbus planes.
