The new coach of the Fijian sevens side says the team won't be disrupted by his absence from the Gold Coast and Wellington legs of the IRB Series.
Alifarete Dere was appointed as Fiji's new coach on Monday, replacing Joe Savou.
He is unable to travel to the Australia and New Zealand legs of the World Series because of travel sanctions imposed on members of the Fiji military.
Assistant Etuate Waqa will take charge of the team at those tournaments and Dere says the team won't miss a beat.
"We both come from the interview we came up with the same idea. To achieve that idea we have the same medium of conducting our training. What we are trying to get the policy of how we put up a team and how we are going to play each tournament."
The first leg of the IRB World Series kicks off on the Gold Coast next weekend.
