Nominations are open for prime minister in Solomon Islands after Friday's resignation of Danny Philip.
Mr Philip resigned ahead of a vote of no confidence brought in his government by the opposition.
He told journalists he felt he'd lost the support of the people while the opposition clearly had the backing in parliament of the majority of MPs.
The governor general Sir Frank Kabui says the nominations for prime minister will close on Sunday.
The election of the prime minister by parliament is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
