The Fiji Rugby Union has appointed Manasa Baravilala as its new chief executive officer.

The website Fiji Village says the announcement was made by the chairman, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga.

Mr Baravilala will take up his new position on December the 1st.

He takes over from Pio Tikoisuva who was the interim CEO since June and led the organisation through the World Cup.

Mr Baravilala is a son of Fiji's late first post-coup interim prime minister, Ratu Jona Senilagakali, who died two weeks ago.
