Easter Islands has been ranked third in the Huffington Post's list of 'places to see before you die.'
The news website let readers choose a winner from sixteen destinations collected from '1000 Places to See Before You Die, a travel anthology written by Patricia Schultz.
Machu Picchu won, with the Great Pyramid of Giza second, ahead of Chile's Polynesian territory of Easter Island.
Other destinations in the top 16 include the Great Barrier Reef, Galapagos Islands and the Sahara Desert.
