Guam sets aside office for Pago Pago workers

11:19 am on 5 December 2011

The American Samoa governor Togiola Tulafono says Guam has set aside an office to be staffed by a liaison officer from Pago Pago.

Guam is projecting that in the next five years it will need 20,000 to 30,000 additional workers as part of the military built up there.

For several months now, American Samoa has been working on setting up an office in Guam to assist with the recruitment of workers from Pago Pago for jobs in Guam.

Togiola says he has received confirmation that the government has set aside an office for American Samoa at the Guam Department of Labor.

The American Samoa office in Guam will oversee all workers from Pago Pago as well as help recruit more workers needed by Guam.
