The Finland government is assisting a community school in Malaita Province in Solomon Islands to help people become entrepreneurs.

The Central Malaita Agriculture Developers Association, with the Alliance for Finnish Development Cooperation, will integrate the training with a local high school.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports the project co-ordinator, Ari Heikkinen, saying high school classes will be held in the morning with the vocational classes in the same classrooms in the afternoon.

He says the school will prepare people to start their own businesses once they've completed the course.
