Trial of alleged Mara accomplice to begin in February

The trial of Risto Harmat, the Estonian national who allegedly assisted Ratu Tevita Mara escape to Tonga will begin on February 20.

Mr Harmat allegedly assisted Tatu Tevita by taking him to the open sea.

He is charged with one count of obstructing the course of justice to which he has pleaded not guilty.

Fiji Live reportsthe Chief Magistrate at the Suva Magistrates Court Usaia Ratuvili says the trial will run for one week.
