Fiji police continue to investigate constable's death

Fiji police say there is no evidence so far to suggest foul play played a part in the death of a police officer in military barracks last week but they are continuing to investigate how he died.

Police constable Vetaia Ratuvono, who was on a training exercise at the barracks in Suva, was discovered dead at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks pools last Thursday.

The Assistant Police Commissioner, Henry Brown, says Constable Ratuvono died during a swimming exercise but would not confirm if there were witnesses who saw what happened.

He says they are gathering more information from the pathologist and speaking to people who were at the military barracks.
