At midnight last night local time, Samoa moved straight from Thursday to Saturday.
But our correspondent in Samoa, Autagavaia Tipi Autagavaia, says workers won't lose a day's pay.
"The government has already passed a legislation way before the change took place, even though Friday is missing this week, all businesses and government ministries have been asked by the government to still pay their employees the missing Friday."
