Police in Indonesia's Papua province are investigating a shooting incident of two civilians who were killed in Ilaga Puncak district on Wednesday.
Papua's provincial police spokesman, Senior Commander Wachyono, says the incident occurred at Kaligime.
He says the two civilians who died were Karel Mayau and Tiperius Murib.
Regarding the motive behind the shooting, Wachyono told Antara News he would not speculate as the investigation was still underway, but it was believed to be the work of an armed civilian group.
