Reports from Tonga say an arrest warrant for parliamentary speaker, Lord Lasike, has not been actioned and he remains in the United States.

Lord Lasike faces charges of illegally possessing gun ammunition but he travelled to the United States in November breaching bail conditions.

Matangi Tonga says the Supreme Court has confirmed that Lord Lasike has not been arrested nor has he returned to work.

It is the second arrest warrant issued for Lord Lasike who is understood to have got married in the US.

The first warrant came after he failed to appear in court for arraignment in October.
