Four arrests following Tonga petrol station hold-up

5:32 pm on 18 January 2012

Four men have been arrested by Tongan police in relation to the armed hold-up at a petrol station where a 53-year-old male supervisor was shot on his leg.

The acting Police Commissioner Taniela Faletau has told Matangi Tonga that the men have been charged with conspiracy to armed robbery.

They have been remanded in police custody.

Police say the first suspect was arrested a week ago - five days after the hold-up.

The four are to appear in court on Monday.
