1:47 pm on 20 January 2012

A case brought against the ousted Fiji Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase has been adjourned for a ruling on February the 7th.

The website Fijilive reports the case was heard in court this morning.

Mr Qarase is facing charges of abuse of office alongside two former Native Land Trust Board executives, Keni Dakuidreketi and Kalivati Bakani.

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption wants the case in relation to the three men to be consolidated however the three lawyers representing the three men are opposing the consolidation.

At the time of the alleged offence, Mr Qarase was the chairman of the Native Land Trust Board.
