A Vanuatu teen has won an international video award for her take on gender politics.

Sixteen year-old Nenneth Sakita says her film about discrimination against women focusses on the right decide for yourself what clothes to wear.

The video was one of 250 brief films made by teenagers around the world run by UNICEF and the One Minute Foundation.

She says she made the film at a workshop after seeing people make negative judgments about a woman wearing high heeled shoes.

Nenneth Sakita says she hopes both men and women will take a positive message from the sixty second video.

"In Vanuatu I decided to make one film for discrimination against women so that one day men will not just challenge it they will know that women still have rights."

The video was one of 250 brief films made by teenagers around the world run by UNICEF and the One Minute Foundation.
