The Department of Public Safety in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas says a woman was beaten and raped by a man at knifepoint inside her bedroom in western Garapan late last month.
The suspect also tried to kidnap the victim but she managed to escape and call for help as he forced her towards his car at knifepoint.
The suspect is described as in his late teens to early 20's, brown complexion, short hair, 5'5" to 5'8" tall, and weighing 150 to 170 lbs.
According to the 25-year-old victim, she was asleep inside her bedroom when she was awakened by the suspect who physically and sexually assaulted her.
Meanwhile, sources at the Department of Public Safety, say there were no signs that Emerita Relata Romero, the 37-year-old bartender who was found dead in San Roque on Tuesday was raped.
The Department of Public Safety has classified the case as a homicide.
