The Speaker of the Tonga Parliament will go to trial in July on a charge of illegally possessing ammunition.
Lord Lasike appeared in court on Friday following his return from an unauthorised trip to America last month to get married.
Radio Tonga reports he has been ordered not to leave the country and has surrendered his passport.
