Hawaiian Airlines has earned the first-ever aviation based carbon credits.
The airline has reduced its carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 22,000 metric tons over the past six years using an innovative, eco-friendly engine washing technology.
The President and Chief Executive Officer, Mark Dunkerley says Hawaiian Airlines is proud to be the first to receive verified carbon credits for reducing emissions.
Mr Dunkerley says engine washing with EcoPower is helping the airline to mitigate rising fuel costs and significantly reduce its carbon footprint at the same time.
