People on Rota are forking out 6US dollars for regular unleaded gasoline and 6.80 dollars a gallon for diesel.

In comparison, the average gas price in the U.S. mainland midweek was 3.49 a gallon.

Saipan's pump prices went up by up to 15 cents on Tuesday at Mobil Oil Mariana Islands service stations.

Overall motorists in the CNMI are now paying 35 cents more than what they were paying at the beginning of the year.
