An estimated 150 pensioners in French Polynesia have taken to the streets of the capital, Papeete, to defend their interest.
The march by the local SDIRAF retirees group was aimed at pushing for higher pensions to compensate them for the increase in the cost of living.
The rally also took aim at local politicians and expressed concern at the dire financial situation at the pension fund.
The protest leaders are reported to be received by the French High Commission.
The high cost of living is a concern in most French overseas territories, with La Reunion experiencing riots this week.
