Sister of American Samoa's Congressman enters race for governor

The sister of American Samoa's Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin is entering the race for governor.

Dr Salu Hunkin-Finau says she will formally announce her candidacy and reveal her running mate at a gathering of supporters at her residence tomorrow.

Dr Hunkin-Finau is a former president of the American Samoa Community College, and has worked for the University of Hawaii and Pacific Resources Educational Learning Center.

The last woman to run for governor was Tisa Faamuli in the 2000 elections.
