The owners of a new cinema complex in Papua New Guinea's capital say rules restricting weapons and imposing a dress code are about setting a high standard.
The Paradise Cinema is the first movie theatre in Port Moresby for 20 years.
Notices are posted restricting weapons including knives and guns, the complex includes a metal detector, and moviegoers' bags are searched.
Adrian Au, from one of the owners, PNG FM, says the biggest problem they want to avoid is vandalism.
"Cutting of the carpets, and graffiti and spitting of betelnut, and that kind of thing. With the introduction of this new complex, it is state of the art, it's the first time we've ever had a complex of this nature, so we want to maintain standards. So, that's the benchmark so people know what to expect."
Adrian Au says adult ticket prices start at about 12 US dollars.
