A Samoa women leaders group is to make a submission over the government's plans to reserve ten percent of parliamentary seats for women.
Our correspondent says the group prefers that a special roll for women be drawn up.
The issue was raised at a one-day public forum to discuss the government's proposed amendment to the constitution to allow more women in parliament.
The prime minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, says the issue of more women MPs was discussed 40 years ago and the move by the government to put into reality must be applauded.
The opposition is against the change, saying the women of Samoa have a special status in the community and culture and therefore should not be lured to become MPs in a low and unofficial process introduced by the government.
However, the prime minister has warned women to be cautious of wild foxes hunting to eat sheep, urging them to use the opportunity now before parliament.
