Samoa Airport Authority official in court on theft charges

A former financial controller for the Samoa Airport Authority has made an court appearance on 48 charges of theft as a servant.

Muliagatele Rapi Tevaga is also accused of aiding, abetting and misappropriating funds belonging to the Samoa Airport Authority.

The amount of money involved is over 13,000 US dollars.

It's alleged the theft took place between 2005 and 2008 and the money stolen includes airport departure taxes, parking fees and aircraft landing fees.
