Power was restored to the public school system and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation in the Northern Marianas on Friday after the territory's power utility got a 400 thousand US dollar payment.

The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation also got an assurance that delinquent accounts would be made current.

The utilty company's deputy executive director, Alan Fletcher, says the payment resulted in the reconnection of the administrative offices of at least six schools.
