Fiji Attorney General describes Australian unions as "out of touch"

Fiji's Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has described the Australian Council of Trade Unions' view of Fiji as ill-informed and out-of-touch.

The ACTU president, Ged Kearney, last week said it will not ease its stance against the Fiji government despite the announcement of details for a new constitution.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum says she is plainly ill informed, which he says is the result of having unionist 'informants' who are blinded by self-interest.

He says all political parties and groups are allowed to meet to discuss Fiji's new constitution.

Fiji Live reports Mr Sayed-Khaiyum say the ACTU is stuck in the thinking that Fijians cannot take care of themselves.
